Pathway Legal is committed to providing our clients with clear and effective communication options, including SMS messaging. This document outlines the terms and conditions for using SMS communication with our legal firm, based in British Columbia.
Pathway Legal complies with Canadian regulations regarding electronic communications, including SMS messaging. By using our SMS services, you agree to the terms outlined below.
Clients are encouraged to review these terms carefully. Pathway Legal’s goal is to ensure compliance with applicable Canadian laws, such as the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
By using SMS communication with Pathway Legal, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.
By consenting to SMS communication with Pathway Legal, you agree to receive service-related text messages. These may include appointment reminders, updates about your case, and other relevant legal information. SMS communication is not used for marketing purposes.
Pathway Legal will not share your personal and confidential information.
Participation in SMS communication is voluntary. By providing your mobile phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from Pathway Legal.
If you no longer wish to receive SMS messages from us, you can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message you receive from Pathway Legal. Alternatively, you may contact our office directly to request removal from our SMS system. You may receive a final confirmation message to confirm your opt-out request.
At Pathway Legal, your privacy and confidentiality are paramount. We will use your information solely for the purposes of delivering SMS communications and responding to your inquiries.
We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or personal information with third parties, except as required by law or as necessary to provide legal services as you have instructed us pursuant to your retainer agreement with Pathway Legal.
Our SMS service is separate to our website and email service so data sharing for our online services will not include a user’s SMS opt-in data or consent status (because explicit, one-to-one consent is required for SMS).
In summary, Pathway Legal will not share SMS opt-in or consent status for non-service-related purposes.
You can access the website policy for our online services, here.
While we strive to ensure prompt and accurate SMS delivery, Pathway Legal is not liable for any delays, delivery failures, or errors in the content of SMS messages. Delivery of SMS messages is subject to the availability of your mobile service provider’s network.
Clients are advised not to share confidential or sensitive information via SMS. For detailed discussions or legal advice, please contact your Pathway Legal lawyer directly.
Any disputes arising from the use of SMS communication will be addressed in accordance with applicable laws of British Columbia.
You must be at least 18 years old to participate in SMS communication with Pathway Legal. By providing your mobile number, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
